It's still appalling to think that people, especially those with privilege, would think that there is absolutely nothing wrong with making statements such as the one that was made to me today. Frankly, it should not matter whether you are elderly and under the impression that you are old-fashioned. You know for a fact that the "especially for a black girl" phrase is positively and absolutely demeaning. Get with the times and learn something.

I asked my boyfriend what his favorite thing about our relationship was. He said the fact that we can talk about any of our thoughts openly, which is my favorite thing as well. I can honestly talk to him about anything.
